This powerful machine from Makita allows you to get petrol-like performance from a quiet electronic motor (under 90dB(A)). The motor is brushless, allowing it to deliver brilliant features like an electronic brake to slow the head down quicker, as well as monitoring the rotation for things like jams, even giving the ability to reverse direction to allow untangling of weeds.
Other features include soft-start; bringing the motor to full speed smoothly to prevent start-up jolting, as well as ADT or Automatic torque Drive Technology; which monitors the load to increase power when required to maintain the cutting speed.
This version of the strimmer is supplied without batteries or charger, but is fully compatible with all XGT 40Vmax battery packs including the 2.5Ah and 4.0Ah Li-ion batteries. It comes with a nylon cutting head and guard combination that gives the user a 350mm cutting swathe, excellent for fast removal of weeds and grass.
