  Ideal for use on the job site for any number of cross cutting or ripping applications in wood, the DCS573 has a specially designed motor that runs excellent at 18V, but can also detect when a FlexVolt battery is loaded and draw on the additional power that can be supplied from these batteries.
  
  The motor in this saw is a brushless type, of which the technology has been constantly developing thanks to the research and development not only from power tools, but also the electric car, drone, electric bike and scooter industries. This latest generation boasts improvements in runtime, temperature, speed and efficiencies over previous generations.
  
  There is a no load speed on the 573 of 5,500 rpm. The unit has an electric brake which uses the brushless motor itself as a generator giving that all-important resistance to slow the blade down in less than 2 seconds once the trigger is released. The rafter hook on this saw makes an ideal way to put the saw out of the way while adjusting your work.
  
  You can attach this saw to dust extraction with a compatible dust port adaptor. That allows you to work indoors while controlling the dust when paired with an L, M or H class dust extractor that has a DeWalt AirLock hose. To allow you to see better if working in poor lighting indoors, there is a strong LED light that illuminates the cut line.
  
  Both the base and the lower blade guard of the saw are made from aluminium. That base can bevel the blade up to a maximum of 57 degrees, but has handy stops at the two most common angles you'll use of 22.5º and 45º. The maximum depth of cut possible for straight cuts is 67mm, which drops down to a still impressive 51mm when angled to 45 degrees.
  
  The DCS573NT package is the saw without batteries or charger, but supplied in a T-Stak storage case. This allows you to use the machine with your own 18 volt XR or 54V XR FlexVolt batteries instead of buying a kit with yet more batteries pushing the price up. You can fit 2-4 batteries in the case along with the saw, depending on the size you use.
