  Pictures don't do the size of this saw justice. It accepts either a 260mm or 270mm saw blades with a thin 2.6mm kerf to improve cutting efficiency. The bore diameter is 30mm. The saw has a massive guard to cover the blade, but there is a helpful lever to allow it to move out of the way just enough that it won't get stuck on the timber as you start your cut.
  
  The original plan for this large bladed saw was for it to have a 260mm blade, but on feedback from the trades and retailers, they found the extra 5mm all round in the guard to expand it to take a 270mm blade. The main reason for this is that at a 270mm blade, it is capable of one-pass cutting a 4x4 post. One of the unusual features of the saw is that the blade-side of the base is missing, letting you get closer to edges. If you need to run it along something to keep the cut straight, there is an adjustable side piece included, which can be flipped upside down in order to act as a guide when making long rip cuts.
  
  The saw can of course bevel cut, and when set to 45 degrees, it can still cut right through a 3x3 post. The bevel doesn't stop there though, and goes all the way to an angle of 60 degrees. There is a quick-set bevel angle adjuster, where you set the dial to 22.5°, 45° or 60° and it will stop itself at that angle, allowing you to lock it in without worrying about it moving. The saw can also be set to an angle of negative-1 degree, which is a feature usually reserved for plunge saws. This saw is actually compatible with Makita style guide rails, and even has the guide rail locks to prevent it falling over when at large bevels.
