  This SDS-Plus Rotary Hammer Drill from DeWalt is great for drilling holes between 4mm and 16mm in concrete, masonry and brickwork. It uses a brushless DC motor to deliver up to 1.4 Joules of impact energy up to 4,980 times per second. The brushless motor gives you fantastic runtime from whatever batteries you choose to run it from. It works on any 18V XR batteries, but the 2.0Ah battery packs work perfectly with the compact and lightweight form factor of the DCH172.
  
  The drill measures just 265mm in length by 176mm tall, and it only weighs 1.8kg bare - light enough to stow it on your tool-belt when not in use. It comes with an adjustable side handle for excellent control, and the rear handle has vibration isolation to help reduce user fatigue. This version of the tool is the bare unit, which is not supplied with batteries, charger or case - this allows a lower price to those who already own plenty of 18V XR Li-ion battery packs from their other DeWalt tools.
