Established in 1843 by Frederick T Stanley, Stanley Works was originally a bolt and hardware company located in New Britain, Connecticut. In 1857 Fredericks cousin Henry Stanley founded the Stanley rule and level company which merged with Stanley Works in 1920 and go on to become the famous hand tool division.

Stanley Hand Tools has been at the forefront of hand tool design and innovation since its inception and continues to design and manufacturer market leading tools. Stanley are the creators of the Bailey plane, Surform shaper, Powerlock tape and more recently the Fatmax range which other tool companies attempt to copy and recreate. Unfortunately for them nothing can compare to a real Stanley tool.

Stanley Hand Tools communicate with the end user before and during the design stage of all their tools. This allows them to address the problems users have with current designs which means Stanley can produce quality and innovative tools that are suited directly to the user’s needs.
