It uses a high performance brushless motor to improve battery efficiency getting longer runtimes while also requiring less maintenance overall. The SDS-Plus Chuck allows fast and easy swapping of drill bits while holding them extremely securely during drill operation. To help improve both safety and productivity, the DHR183 has a super bright LED work light that automatically comes on when the trigger is pulled. The trigger has a pressure sensitive switch allowing you to vary the speed simply by adjusting finger pressure, allowing better drilling control. This version of the drill is not supplied with batteries or a charger, which is ideal for Makita lovers who already have 18V LXT batteries in their collection.
