  Makita SDS-Plus Rotary Hammer Drill | 18V LXT | DHR241 Bare Unit

  
  This drill from Makita is part of their huge LXT range of 18 Volt cordless machines designed for the professional tradesman. This drill is supplied as the bare unit, allowing you to use your own 18 Volt LXT Lithium-ion battery packs if you're already in the ecosystem, and allowing us to keep the cost lower for you. The DHR241 has three different modes of operation depending on the desired application. The first is rotary only, ideal for drilling into wood or metal. The second of the modes is rotary hammer, for to allow the impact mode to assist in drilling into masonry and concrete. Finally is the rotary-stop mode which enables the hammer action but stops the chuck from rotating. This mode allows you to carry out chiselling and light demolition work with the appropriate chisel attachments. The SDS-Plus shank is the de facto standard for rotary hammer drill and chisel bits, with there being thousands of different lengths, diameters and types available in various different brands including Makita.
