  Milwaukee M18 FUEL Plunge Saw | 55mm On-Rail Cut | with 2 x 5.5Ah Batteries

  
  The M18 FUEL FPS55 is an incredible plunge saw with all the best features available. It is capable of cutting up to a depth of 55mm when used on a rail, or 59mm off the rail. In order to differentiate your cutting depths on-vs-off the rail, the depth stop adjuster has two different guides.
  
  The kit comes with a pair of 5.5 Amp-hour batteries, which are part of the HIGH-OUTPUT range of RedLithium-ion batteries, perfect for high-draw tools like this. You also get a fast charger, the M12-18 FC, which can charge each battery from completely empty in just one hour, and also has a slot to charge M12 batteries if you have them.
  
  Plunge saws come into their element when used with a track/rail. This takes a lot of the human element out of it, and allows you to rely on the straightness and support supplied by the track in order to not only get the cut perfectly straight, but also to reduce the chances of slipping and destroying the work piece.
  
  The saw doesn't come with tracks by default, which can be added using the drop down if available. The motor is a POWERSTATE 70mm brushless motor which can run at an adjustable no-load-speed of between 2,500rpm and 5,600 rpm.
  
  The saw can tilt up to a maximum of 48 degrees, at which point the anti-tip feature can be used to allow the saw to grip into the rail. When cutting at 45 degrees, the max cut depth is 42mm on the rail and 44mm without the rail.
  
  There is a riving knife built into the saw which is essential when working with materials prone to internal stresses to prevent kickbacks. The riving knife is 1.4mm in thickness, making a blade with 1.0mm plate, 1.6mm kerf and 20mm bore ideal when it comes time to replace the included blade.
  
  Another excellent feature of the plunge saw is a scoring/scribe cut stop, which is a switch that you can slide to only allow the blade to cut a couple of millimetres of material, an essential feature for cutting any melamine type materials without splintering.
