  Trend T8 2.2KW Variable Speed 1/2" Workshop Router

  
  Available in 230V (T8EK) or 110V (T8ELK) variants, this workshop router from Trend is the new T8. It is router table ready, working with the CRT/MK3 benchtop router table, WRT workshop router table, or DIY router tables. This router takes half inch diameter router bits, but also includes a 1/4" collet sleeve to allow you a greater range of router bits, as well as making the upgrade from a 1/4" router to this one less of a financial hit. There are several inclusions in the box that make the T8 perfect for use in a router table. The first is the router table height adjuster, a thumbscrew that interfaces with a screw already on the machine that will allow you to bring the router cutter up and down in relation to the surface of the table. The next is the router table safety clip which goes into a special place inside the trigger handle that overrides the safety switch and allows it to stay in the on-position. This lets you use a remote switch (ideally NVR), like the one supplied on the CRT and WRT tables.
  
  The router has a high performance motor whose speed can be adjusted with 11 settings. There is even a useful guide on the top of the router that translates the speed numbers to an RPM, from as low as 10,000 rpm up to a maximum setting of 26,000 rpm. A brilliant QOL improvement with this router is the inclusion of a vertical dust extraction spout. This reduces the chance of the hose snagging on jigs or even the workpiece itself. If you decide to mount the T8 into a table, it is compatible with the cam-lock system. This makes is quick and easy to remove or install the T8 from the table.
  
  The T8 is rated to 2,200 Watts, a power that gives you more cutting power and reducing cutters from bogging down, especially in challenging material. Both the 230 and 110 Volt versions boast this power rating, meaning the 230V draws a peak current of 10-12 Amps, and the 110V draws 20-25A at peak (such as start-up etc). For this reason, the 110V is supplied without a plug allowing you to install your own 32A plug. Everything supplied with the router is packaged in a blow-moulded storage case which has sections to securely hold all the accessories in place for safe transportation.
