This mini cutoff saw from Makita is an incredibly compact machine that boasts a fantastic no load speed of 20,000 rpm. It has a maximum disc diameter of 76mm (10mm bore), and has countless cutting applications.
This is the twin-5.0Ah version of the kit (-RTJ) which also comes with a fast battery charger. Other accessories included in the box are a Type 2 MakPac Connector Case, Inox cutting disc (for stainless steel), carbide cutting disc and diamond cutting disc.
One of the best accessories in this kit is the dust shroud which is similar to what you would find on a circular saw. This allows you to cut materials with lower risk of breathing in harmful dusts when you combine it with a dust extractor.
The direction of the cutter can be reversed, which is ideal when cutting metals to deflect the sparks away from you. Some cutting discs require rotation in one direction only, such as the diamond disc. These can still be run backwards, but only after you rotate the disc to match the arrow on the side of the disc.
