Makita 14" Cordless Dry Cutoff Saw | Twin-40Vmax | CE002G Bare Unit
This disc cutter from Makita takes a 355mm diameter disc and is designed to be used with dry dust extraction. This makes it ideal for those who aren't often in a position where wet cutting would be appropriate. It has a dust port on the large shroud for connection to dust extraction, as well as a shroud extension on the bottom half, getting the collection airflow as close to the cutting path as possible. To make the machine more convenient to use with an extractor, it includes an AWS transmitter. This communicates with compatible dust extractors, telling them when to start and stop, usually with a delay before they switch off to clear the shroud and hose from remaining debris. The CE002 is very similar to the CE001 which is the wet version that has a water hose hook-up. They both use two 40Vmax XGT batteries together in series, to deliver up to 80 Volts to the brushless motor drive unit. The motor produces an incredible 3.6 kW of power, that's almost 5 horsepower. The CE002GZ01 is supplied without batteries or charger, making it ideal for those who already own at least a pair of 40Vmax XGT battery packs, or who plan to get them as part of a different kit.
