This extremely small machine is surprisingly capable for its size, boasting the ability to drill up to 14mm in diameter while being lightweight enough to hang on your tool belt. This version is supplied without any battery or charger, making it ideal for tradesmen who already own 10.8V or 12V battery packs from other DeWalt 12V XR tools.
The optimal drilling diameter for this tool is between 4mm and 10mm, and it has been tested with a 3.0 Amp-hour battery to be capable of drilling 24 6mm diameter 80mm deep holes on one charge. It isn't limited to just drilling into concrete and masonry, and will allow you to disable the hammer function to drill holes in wood with a suitable bit.
The bit holder on the DCH072, like full-sized rotary hammer drills, is the common SDS-Plus shank holder. This allows you to use a massive range of different drill bits from various brands including DeWalt. In order to help you support the drill and keep the bit straight, there is an included auxiliary handle that can be adjusted to the preferred angle for right or lefties, and also features a depth stop.
