A powerful large angle grinder that operates from a single 40Vmax Lithium-ion battery pack. The grinder is not supplied with a battery or charger in order to keep the price lower for those who already own other XGT power tools.
The GA038 is supplied with a side handle that can be attached to the left or right, as well as a blade guard that can be adjusted without the need for a tool to any position. The body of the tool is slim and has rubber overmoulding for a more comfortable and ergonomic user experience.
The tool is operated by a lever style switch which is protected by a lock-off function. When pressed, the electronic soft-start prevents unpleasant/dangerous start-up jolts, and when released the electric brake slows the disc down quickly for greater safety.
If during use, the Active Feedback Sensing Technology, or AFT, detects that the disc has slowed down too quickly, such as in a bind-up, it will shut the tool down to prevent injury to the user. The tool and your battery are also protected from damage by overloads by an electronic current limiter.
The motor in this machine is a brushless DC type, which means less maintenance as there are no brushes to change when they wear out. Brushless motors are also much more efficient than traditional brushed motors so they therefore give longer battery runtime as well as greater torque.
