This excellent twin pack from Makita contains two compact and lightweight yet powerful tools that area ideal for professional tradesmen. Both machines feature high performance brushless DC motors that don't suffer from the energy losses associated with brushed motors. This allows them to get much greater battery life than equivalent brushed tools, and they also require less maintenance. Both tools also have powerful LED work lights that illuminate the work area during usage, but also glow for a period of time after releasing the trigger, great for making adjustments when screwdriving and drilling. The DHP481 combination hammer drill is a two-mechanical-speed all-rounder that can drill up to 76mm diameter in wood, 16mm in masonry and 13mm in steel. It has a single sleeve keyless chuck that allows you to swap out drill bits quickly and easily with one hand. The 2 gears give you coarse speed control but for finer control the trigger is pressure sensitive. The DTD170 impact driver has a fantastic maximum tightening torque of 175Nm, allowing tightening of machine screws up to M8, standard bolts up to M16 and high tensile bolts up to M14. It can operate in forward as well as reverse to allow you to remove those extremely stubborn screws. It has four stage impact power selection that lets you pick the appropriate power depending on the application. These tools are powered by the two included 5.0 Amp-hour capacity Lithium-ion batteries which can be charged by the DC18RC compact LXT charger in only 45 minutes each. Everything here fits in the Type 3 Makpac Connector Case for easy storage and safe transportation.
