  Please note, this is a safety-first grinder, which requires you to pull the trigger on the side handle before pulling the main trigger in order to make the machine run.
  
  The DeWalt DCG418SHDX2 54V XR FLEXVOLT 125mm Angle Grinder delivers corded performance without the restriction of trailing cables. Built for heavy-duty metalworking and masonry tasks, this grinder combines a high-output 54V brushless motor with advanced user protection features. Structural steel fabricators, site welders, and masonry contractors rely on this tool for aggressive grinding, chasing brickwork, and cutting thick steel sections on demanding jobsites.
  
  An upgraded 54V brushless motor drives 125mm discs at a no-load speed of 9000 RPM. The M14 spindle thread accommodates standard site accessories, while the recessed spindle lock design maximizes depth of cut and protects the lock button in tight spaces. An electronic brake rapidly stops disc rotation upon trigger release, and the anti-rotation E-Clutch mitigates kickback force if a pinch or stall occurs.
  
  Integrated Side Handle DETECT technology requires two-handed activation to prevent unintended single-handed operation during heavy cutting operations. A rubber overmould grip improves operator control during long shifts, and removable mesh debris covers prevent airborne dust from entering the motor housing. Operating on the 54V XR FLEXVOLT platform, the tool uses high-capacity battery cells capable of switching voltage to power standard 18V XR tools across your fleet.
  
  This upgraded model generates up to 30% more power than the previous DCG414 angle grinder when paired with a 9.0Ah battery pack. The increased power density maintains higher wheel speed under heavy grinding loads, preventing motor stall during deep concrete cutting and heavy weld removal.
  
  The DCG418SHDX2 kit includes two 54V 9.0Ah FlexVolt batteries (DCB547), a fast charger, a two-position side handle, a keyless grinding guard, a hex wrench, and a heavy-duty TSTAK kitbox. This package supplies complete mobility for grinding structural beam welds, slabbing paving stones, cutting rebar, and preparing metal joints for site welding.
  
  In order to operate this tool, the side handle is non-optional. You need to squeeze the side handle trigger, then the main trigger within 2 seconds of each other. You also need to release the side handle and squeeze it again to restart it.
