  This ultra compact wood lathe from SIP Group is perfect for use in smaller workshops. It has an impressive working length of 40 inches (about 1 metre), and a maximum material size of 14 inches (350mm). The lathe comes supplied with a 3 piece chisel set which have wooden handles. That makes this a fantastic option for beginners who don't yet have any turning experience.
  
  This lathe has four turning speeds allowing you to carry out a variety of tasks depending on the required application. The tool rest position and angle can be easily adjusted thanks to the quick-release lever. In the event that you have a power cut or breaker/fuse blow, the lathe will not automatically restart when power is restored - Imagine you go and investigate the cause of the power-loss, only to fix it and the lathe starts running on its own completely unattended - the No Voltage Release or NVR prevents this, requiring the switch on the machine to be manually turned on again before it will start up. There is a comprehensive manual supplied with the lathe which also includes an exploded diagram listing all replaceable parts that can be ordered from SIP to keep the machine going for years to come. It comes with a standard 2 year warranty.
