Black & Decker Corded Rotary Hammer Drill with SDS-Plus & Keyed Chucks
The first of its kind from Black and Decker, this rotary hammer drill allows you to use SDS-Plus bits to drill large diameter holes in concrete and masonry up to 32mm. Also included in the box is an adaptor that converts the SDS-Plus chuck into a keyed 3-jaw chuck. This is fantastic as it allows you to use all your ordinary smooth or hexagon shank drill bits. The BEHS03 operates in one of three available modes; the first of which is rotary only, perfect for use when drilling up to 13mm into steel, or 40mm into wood (with forstner bit for example). Next is rotary-hammer mode, designed for hard materials like concrete and brick. Finally is rotary-stop mode which stops the rotation but keeps the hammer engaged. This hammer mode allows you to use it as a 3.7 Joule chipping hammer, ideal for getting rid of tiles etc. The speed of the machine can be varied thanks to the 6-position dial next to the trigger. The trigger is a collapsing-type, which means that it does not take the same force to keep it engaged as it does to first switch it on, for better user comfort. To improve user comfort further, the rear handle is isolated from the main body and therefore from the majority of the vibrations, letting you use the tool for longer. There is an adjustable side-handle with integrated depth stop, meaning you don't need to bother with marking or taping up your drill bit to get the right depth.
