  DeWalt FlexVolt Diamond Core Drill | 162mm Max | with 2 x 9.0Ah Batteries

  
  This purpose-built machine from DeWalt's FlexVolt range has been designed from the ground up for drilling holes with diamond cores. It has a three speed gearbox that lets you cut holes 38mm, 76mm or 162mm in diameter dependant on speed. Diamond core drilling is essential for large diameter holes, generally 38mm and up. You can drill these large diameter holes in a range of materials including brick, concrete, masonry, stone. Common applications include installation of bathroom/kitchen extractor fans, cooker hoods, tumble dryer ducts and more. While these are all generally done horizontally through walls, you can also use the core drill to drill vertically down into a deep concrete floor for example in order to precisely create a track for laying HVAC or other services such as a soil pipe under floor. In order to aid with drilling either vertically or horizontally, you can opt to add the DCPS151 stand (requires a PowerShift battery). This excellent bit of kit works with the DCD150 by allowing you to mount the drill to the stand, and give you a drill-press type lever to give a consistent downwards pressure for fast and efficient drilling. It can be placed on the floor, or can be connected to the wall. This takes the weight of the drill off the operator and allows them to concentrate on drilling accuracy. With bigger drilling jobs, and material dependant, you often need water to keep your core bits cool, and to also reduce dust. To aid this is the DCE682 water tank, which is also available as an addon. It operates from the same batteries, but also works with the lower voltage 18V XR range too. The base of this water tank is compatible with T-Stak. It has a 15 litre water tank capacity, and comes with a spray nozzle as a bonus. Its main application is going to be as a portable water feed to the side handle for the DCD150, which has an integrated water regulator. Supplied with the DCD150 in this X2 kit are two 9.0 Amp-hour battery packs (3.0Ah in application), as well as a charger. Also in the box is an adaptor that allows you to use 1¼" UNC fitment (external) or ½" BSP fitment (internal) core bits. This is the first tool to be released that is compatible with PowerShift batteries, via the stand.
