  The DCD444 18V Stud & Joist Drill by DeWalt is the perfect tool for HVAC installers, electricians or plumbers when a larger diameter hole is required in wood. It features a reliable 18V brushless motor that provides incredible power and control, with smart E-Clutch System that automatically detects reactionary torque in cases of stall or bind up and reduces speed allowing the user to regain control.
  
  This durable Joist Drill with 1/2" chuck is a part of the DeWalt Perform and Protect range of power tools, designed to have the power of corded with cordless freedom as well as one or more of either dust containment, low vibration or control without sacrificing any of the performance.  
  
  This machine features the successor to FlexVolt Advantage; Pack Identification technology. This allows the machine to know when it is being powered from a FlexVolt battery, and take better advantage of the cell configuration to deliver more power to the brushless motor.
