This cordless twinpack from Makita contains two powertools which feature brushless DC motors. Brushless motors are much better than traditional brushed motors due to the improved efficiencies resulting in lower temperatures, better battery runtime and no maintenance requirements.
The DHP487 is a combination hammer drill with aforementioned brushless motor that allows it to drive the 3 jaw keyless chuck at up to 1,700 rpm and deliver up to 40 Nm of fastening torque. With the hammer mode enabled, the drill can impact up to 425 times per second in order to break up masonry while drilling with an appropriate masonry drill bit.
The DTD153 impact driver has a quarter-inch hex drop-n-load bit holder for fast bit changing. You can fasten with up to 170 Nm of torque using the impact driver, making it suitable for standard bolts from M5 to M16. It delivers hard hitting impacts 60 times per second to assist with fastening or loosening of screws and bolts beyond what you could do with a screwdriver.
This kit is supplied in a MakPak storage case along with a mains charger for 18V LXT batteries, and three 5.0 Amp-hour capacity 18 Volt Lithium-ion battery packs.
