    DeWalt Cordless Breaker Hammer | 54V XR FlexVolt | DCH966 with 2x 15Ah Batteries


    This mammoth power tool from DeWalt is completely cordless yet rated at 41 Joules of impact energy. It delivers this via a 1-1/8" or 28.5mm hex chuck and is rated as a 17kg or 38lb breaker. It operates from a single XR FlexVolt battery in 54V mode, and is supplied with two of the biggest batteries available so far, the 15.0Ah DCB549 (5.0Ah capacity in 54V applications).

    The DCH966 is suitable for heavy use and is capable of chasing out 5 inch wide channels for 4 inch pipework without breaking a sweat. The body has been designed so that the impact piece is decoupled from the handles, transmitting much less vibration energy into your hands during use.

    Looking at the DCH model 966, you might assume that it couldn't be used with the shovel attachments for powered excavation, with those handles in the way... but you can quickly and easily remove both handles, and take advantage of the centre and rear handles to dig through compacted and stoney soil.
