  These cable connectors are suitable for both stranded and solid core wire between 0.2 and 4 mm². This makes them suitable for most house wiring applications for lighting and sockets. It has been certified to ENEC 05 with a rating of 450 Volts and current of 32 Amps. The 221 series connectors are much smaller (approximately 40 percent) than the original 222 series, and at only 8.4mm in height, they will fit behind many light switches and sockets without needing a deeper box.
  
  The fantastic minimum cable diameter of 0.2mm² means that even the lower diameter of the CPC in most twin- or singles-and-earth cables can be securely clamped by this connector. The upper limit of 4mm² is also great for those heavier cables sometimes used for radial socket circuits and alterations. There is an integrated test point under the lever arm with the Wago logo that lets you insert a test probe either on the cable entry side, or the reverse.
  
  To use this connector, you simply strip 11mm of wire, using the handy guide on the side of the connector block. Then flip up the orange lever arm and push the cable in as far as it will go. Hold it there and push the lever back down, then tug on the wire to check it is secure. The clear casing of the 221 series connectors also allows you to see that there is bare wire on either side of the clamping point, while ensuring that the cable insulation goes far enough into the block to be safe.
