  With a heavy duty cast iron body, this traditional style disc sander takes a 12 inch or 305mm diameter disc. It is easy and safe to use thanks to the safety guard on the upwards side of the disc. There is also a hand brake that can be pressed to slow the disc down quickly, letting you then walk to another station in your workshop quicker. Another safety feature with this disc sander is the power switch. The on switch is hidden under a cover to prevent accidental starting, and this cover doubles as the emergency stop button. In the event of a power cut in your workshop electrical supply, which is then restored, the machine will not start on its own again, and instead requires the off button to be pressed first. There is a very large cast iron table on the sander which you can tilt with ease thanks to the rack and pinion gear system.
