  Makita Cordless Jigsaw | 18V LXT | DJV184 Bare Unit

  
  Featuring the latest brushless motor technology, and backed with a 3 year warranty upon registration, this excellent machine is capable of cutting up to 135mm of wood, 20mm aluminium and 10mm steel. It takes universal blades and has a 23mm stroke length. It is sold without batteries or chargers to keep it priced lower for the many tradesmen and DIYers who already own LXT 18V battery packs from their other power tools and garden tools, however batteries are available separately. The DJV184 has a soft-no-load function which detects when the motor is running but not cutting anything, reducing the operating speed for lower vibrations, reduced noise and longer battery life. The jigsaw has an orbital cutting control with three orbit sizes or a setting for straight cutting. Not only does this have a variable speed control dial to set a maximum speed, but you can easily and intuitively control the speed of the oscillation by varying the pressure of your finger on the trigger. The base comes with a non-marking cover for working on sensitive surfaces, and the unit can tilt 45 degrees both left and right for those more complex cuts.
