DeWalt 3rd Generation Brushless Impact Driver | 2 x 1.7Ah 18V XR Li-ion PowerStack Battery Packs
The DCF850 is the newest impact driver from DeWalt featuring many QoL improvements over the last generation DCF887. The unit is much more compact, resulting in a better power-to-weight ratio. The head measures just 100mm in length while being capable of fastening up to 205 Nm of torque.
Naturally the tool is driven by a brushless DC motor, with a new and optimised mechanism. The bit holder has been redesigned to provide less wobble/run-out with the same mechanical reliability that you would expect. Speaking about reliability, this machine comes with the standard 1 year warranty, but can be extended out to three years if registered with DeWalt within 28 days.
This kit is one of the first available to include the first generation of PowerStack batteries. Why are they called PowerStack? Because they are made up of multiple powerful pouch cells stacked on top of each other for maximum energy density. The reduction in physical size makes it possible to include some rubber overmoulding for extra durability. These batteries are fully compatible with all other DeWalt 18V XR Li-ion cordless tools, and are able to deliver 50% more power than a 2.0Ah battery while weighing less and being physically smaller. These batteries also have the advantage that they are the first battery pack that can be registered for the extended 3 year warranty.
