DeWalt DCD805 18V Combi Hammer Drill with 2 x 1.7Ah PowerStack Batteries
A new generation of drill with a new generation of battery, this kit includes two of the first PowerStack battery packs which puts out 50 percent more power than a 2.0 Amp-hour battery, while having a 25 percent smaller footprint and weighing 15 percent less. It seems too good to be true, but simply search PowerStack Review on YouTube to see the results. They achieve this by moving away from cylindrical cells which have unused space around each cell to pouch cells which naturally make much better use of the available space, and allow for connections which better take advantage of the raw current delivering capacity of each cell.
The DCD805 uses a new type of brushless motor which makes it much more powerful than its predecessor the DCD796. It is also 13mm shorter and generally more compact and ergonomic to use. It features an improved gearbox which when combined with the new brushless motor allows up to 90 Nm of maximum torque, compared to 70 Nm of the 796. It still has all the same features you would expect, including a 3 jaw 13mm keyless chuck, hammer mode for masonry drilling, adjustable torque ring for screwdriving and two speed gearbox. It also has an improved work light from the 796 that can be positioned high, mid or low giving you more flexibility.
