  Suitable for both professional and home use, this hedge trimmer from Makita has a very long blade at 750mm. The teeth along the blade are triple edged and curved for much more efficient and effective cutting of hedges. The trimmer is capable of cutting branches up to a thickness of 23.5mm, and it is powered by a single 18v LXT battery (not supplied), that many Makita fans will already own for their other power tools.
  
  The black part of the handle rotates around five different positions, allowing you to get a better angle on the hedge instead of awkwardly twisting yourself. The powerful motor can operate in 3 different speeds up to 4,400 strokes per minute, and fine control can be achieved thanks to the pressure sensitive variable speed trigger.
  
  In the event that the trimmer head gets stuck on a particularly tough branch, simply hit the reverse switch to briefly reverse the direction of the motor. The motor is the brushless DC type, which allows much longer runtime than older brushed motors, and also requires less overall maintenance.
