Item quickly sent. Easy to fit and comes with a sticker saying TANK ALARMED. Straight replacement of old unit. Old battery tube pack was very expensive whereas new unit uses a small inexpensive cell battery. I did prefer the old number readout on the display but will probably get used to the bar display.

I bought one of these a few weeks ago and I'm very pleased with it. It arrived promptly and was easy to instal. I had worried to begin with that it wasn't working properly but the transmitter and receiver hadn't been held up to each other correctly or long enough. Once I'd unscrewed the transmitter and followed the instructions again, giving it long enough to be programmed, then all was well. I've plugged in the receiver where I spot it easily so I won't miss hearing the alarm.

An efficient service from Ray Grahams.
Whilst the Watchman device appears to be better than anything else currently available for domestic installations, it nevertheless has a number of deficiencies. As oil thefts are becoming an increasing problem, it is surprising indeed that the manufacturers have not developed this device to its logical conclusion.
The alarm is quite quiet and will only be heard in the room in which it is installed; there is no provision for connection to an external alarm. Therefore the device is not so much an alarm that a theft is in progress as a warning that a theft has recently occurred.
The "this tank is alarmed" warning sticker lasted for about three days before it was completely bleached by the sun - and they weren't even sunny days!
