Are Bionics The Future Of The Construction Industry?

Bionic Suits

Esko Bionics, a US manufacturer of bionic wears are set to bring their highly acclaimed product line to the UK in the next year. The Esko range includes the Zero G power tool stand and Ekso Vest - 2 bionic enhancements designed to minimize stress, accidents and company claims losses to the market starting Q2 of 2018. The company's official product statement reads;

"EksoWorks makes products that make it easier and safer for you to do your job. Designed and built for dynamic, real-world environments like construction sites, factories, and distribution centres, our solutions reduce the stress and strain of high-frequency and long-duration activities that take a toll on your body over time. EksoWorks products like the EksoZeroG and EksoVest offer protection and support against fatigue and injury. Increase the likelihood that you can leave your job with energy left for the rest of your life"

The product range aims to combat thousands of annual occupational injuries and the average £9,000,000 + compensation debt paid to workers in the UK - $21 Billion in the US.

What Is The Zero Gravity Arm?

Due for release March 2018, the Zero Gravity arm facilitates the use of heavy power tools up to 16kg by effectively rendering them weightless - hence the name.

The Zero G allows you to complete heavy duty tasks more comfortably with less fatigue and more efficiently - reduces workplace injuries and manpower per application.

Using exoskeleton technology workers can attach rivet busters, demolition hammers, chipping hammers, SDS drills, impact wrenches, grinders and rotary hammers to the Zero G. Tesla reports a 300% increase in single operative production since using the Zero G, stating "a single man could drill 100 holes before needing to swap, now he can do 300+"

What is the EskoVest?

We've all heard of Iron man, watched Elysium or played COD (call of duty). Have you ever thought - Wow that would be f***ing awesome? Not exactly the same but the EksoVest is the next best thing.

Smaller, more personal and for individual use, the EskoVest gives users a taste of superhuman strength. You can't jump across tower blocks or smash walls, but the futuristic device is a mini exoskelteon, designed to enable construction workers to lift heavy materials and operate hand held tools without the associated physical stress.
