Dewalt have finally released the much anticipated all battery cordless framing nailer to compete with the gas and battery counterparts from the likes of Bostitch, Paslode and Hitachi. These gas nailers are notoriously hard to keep running in cold weather and need to be serviced regularly. But this all stops with the release of the Dewalt DCN690M2.
The Dewalt DCN690M2 is packed with features.
The gun uses mechanical rather than gas operation removing the need for servicing and allowing the gun to operate to temperatures of -15 degrees Celsius. This is powered by a new brushless motor providing longer runtime, improved power output and longer motor life which gives us what we all want – Less down time.
The battery is 18 volt lithium ion and this allows it to deliver unrivalled power, the nailer can drive up to 90mm ring shank nails which none of its competitors can do. It has a large 4.0Ah capacity which gives run time of up to 600 nails per charge.
Like previous Dewalt cordless guns it has retained all the best features like bump and sequential firing modes which offer control or just outright speed. When we seen this gun raced against a Paslode its speed was far superior, the Paslode just couldn’t compete.
The DCN690M2 is a mere 345mm in length which is shorter than any other cordless framing nailer. The purpose of this is to allow the gun to fit in between joists and stud work making life a lot easier, a feature only Dewalt would think off.
Other features like easy nail jam access, tool free stall release and a battery level indicator make this tool the complete package and a sure market leader.
Our Power tool manager at Ray Grahams, Anton O’Hara, has seen this gun in action and said:
"The gun is revolutionary; this will destroy the sales of its competitors. If you buy one of these you will never use gas guns again"
