  Draper 1.8m 2000kg Rigid Towing Brace

  
  This is a perfect alternative to a row rope and much easier to use too. Tow ropes are considered to be unsafe except in extreme emergencies and for very short journeys; literally to the side of the road or the nearest layby where a recovery truck can take over.
  
  Towing braces are much better in that there is no shock-loading of the towing points on the cars as there is no slack to take up like there is with a tow rope. Another excellent advantage is that the driver of the rear vehicle can feel more directly what the driver of the front vehicle is doing, and can assist in braking the two car combination.
  
  This towing brace is made up of three sections with each section held together with pins and R-clips. The hooks at each end can be opened by removing another R-clip and pin, which lets the hook slide away from the bar enough to attach it to your towing eye. This then slides closed to hold it securely in place for both acceleration and braking.
  
  When installed, the towing brace measures 184cm in length. It is capable of pulling vehicles up to 2,000kg. Also included is the legally required towing flag which hangs down in the middle of the pole for better visibility, plus an "on tow" placard and a storage bag to stop it rattling around in your boot.
