  Makita 320mm Scarifier | 18V LXT

  
  Operating from a single 18 Volt battery pack, but supplied without one, this scarifier is 32cm wide and includes a series of Blades on a spindle that rotates at speed vertically through thatch or the soil itself depending on the height you have set it. Removing thatch from grass allows the grass room to grow and gives it more light as well as allows more nutrients at the soil and into the roots of the grass.
  
  The height of the blades can be adjusted from a single control from as high as +4mm to as low as -8mm. There is a 30 litre collection box which is ideal for use when working on heavily thatched lawns. An excellent usage tip is to start with a light pass, then do a second pass at a deeper collection setting. The first pass loosens a lot of the thatch from the grass but doesn't pick much of it up into the collection bag, and the second pass removes more thatch and picks up what was missed, with less risk of damaging the grass because it was loosened with the first pass.
