Makita Impact Driver & Combi Drill Twin Pack | With 2 x 18V 5.0Ah Batteries
This twinpack from the 18 Volt LXT Lithium-ion battery pack platform contains a DHP486 combi hammer drill and a DTD154 1/4" impact driver. It is packaged, along with charger and two 5.0 Amp-hour batteries, in a Type 3 MakPak Systainer-compatible Connector case for space efficient storage.
The DHP486 comes with an extra long side handle to allow the user to counter the awesome 130 Nm of hard joint fastening torque. You can use the torque selector ring with 21 settings to reduce this down to something more manageable if required. With the appropriate bits, you can drill up to 76mm diameter in wood, 16mm diameter in masonry, and 13mm diameter holes in steel.
The impact driver, model DTD154, takes your standard (impact rated) 1/4" hex bits, or can be used with a hex to square convertor to use with impact rated sockets. The maximum torque attainable by the 154 is 175 Nm, thanks to the 3,800 blows per minute generated by the impact mechanism. Like the combi drill, the impact driver also has a brushless DC motor which is more powerful, reliable and energy efficient than older brushed motors.
