  The chimney cleaning log has been designed to help prevent chimney fires by preventing and cleaning any build up of creosote deposits in your chimneys flu. The Chimney cleaning log is compatible with wood stoves, furnaces, fireplace inserts, gas starter fires, wood and oil mixed fireplaces, wood and coal stoves, boilers and fireplaces. It helps to remove and loosen deposits gradually over time ensuring a safer home and reducing the risk of chimney fires. 
  
  The chimney log and DeVielle chimney cleaning kit are a perfect combination to ensure a clean and safe burning environment.
  
  How the chimney cleaning log works:
  
  

  • The chimney cleaning log will burn for around 90 minutes.
  • The smoke developed from the chimney cleaning log is charged with additives loosening creosote deposits
  • Creosote deposits are reduced making your next fire safer.
  • While burning fires over the next 1 to 2 weeks the additives from burning the chimney cleaning log will continue to treat your chimney

  
  When to use the chimney cleaning log:
  
  

  • It is recommended that you burn a chimney cleaning log once every 60 fires or as required, such as the start and end of winter (or when your fire is in the most use).

  I have bought these cleaning logs from Ray Grahams for a few years now.  They are always delivered promtly
  It is a great product which cleans the tar and creosote deposits off the chimney, and alongside regular chimney sweeping it keeps the chimney clear.
