  Nylon Lock Nuts

  
  These nylon lock nuts, also known as "nylocs" are designed so that they can be used in machinery that vibrates. As the nut threads on the nylon ring, which has a slightly undersized inner diameter, grips onto the threads of the bolt tightly. This reduces the chances of the nut from loosening over time from the vibrations of a vehicle, motor or power tool for example. The lock nuts are available in various diameters and quantities, with the size referring to the size of bolt it threads onto, for example 20mm threads onto M20.
