  don't be fooled by the pictures!!! i chose this supplier over many others due to the fact the pictures showed a nice solid slide together fit. When delivered they are a push fit dowel joint like many other cheaper suppliers.
  finish of wood is good though.

  solid pine, varnished with a peg either side to help lock together when around the pipe. It is well priced and exactually as in the picture (though remember to order two of them).
  
  I will be costomising mine as there a tad high for my personal tastes, thats not a reflection of the product its exactly what i paid for, i just want to make it a tad lower in its profile to the floor... it would not be true DIY if you didn't do any of it yourself.
