The Outback Magnum

UPDATED: January 2020

Looking for the perfect BBQ to get the summer season kicked off in style?

Whether you are cooking for the family or hosting an epic garden party with friends there is nothing like a summer BBQ.  Picking the correct BBQ can be quite a daunting task when you have so many things to consider from price to fuel and size, that being said buying a cheap BBQ can all but guarantee sub-standard results even in the most experienced hands. That's why we have rigorously reviewed Outback's HOTTEST NEW Magnum 3 Burner Gas BBQ to save you the time and effort picking your summer BBQ.

If you are a first time buyer the Magnum is packed with a range of features and accessories to help you get from BBQ Zero to Hero.

If you're already a BBQ master you will be blown away by the innovative design, features and flexibility housed in this all in one masterpiece by Outback.

Key Points

Is the Magnum 3 Easy to Assemble?

To assemble the Magnum you will require an hour's free time and a Medium size flat blade screwdriver, and an adjustable spanner. The overall assembly is quite ea sy and stress free if you follow the simple step by step instructions which are supplied with the BBQ.

Is the Magnum BBQ easy to use?

In this day and age you don't want to be standing around trying to get the charcoal BBQ lit and ready for cooking. This is where the Magnum comes into its element as it can be fired up through simply turning the control knobs, no need to even press a button

How many people can the Magnum 3 Burner cater for?

The Magnum has the ability to cater for up to 8-12 people with its large 640 x 420mm Cast Iron Cooking area, plus the additional side hob which can be used to cook anything from pasta to sauces

Is the Magnum 3 worth the money?

When you consider the price tag the Magnum has a lot of expectation to live up to, from personal experience of using the BBQ I think the price tag is well within a reasonable asking price. Compare the Outback Magnum to the Weber E310 Classic 3 Burner BBQ which is priced from £479.99 and has nowhere near the same functionality and features that are packed into the Magnum. The Magnum has a larger cooking surface and an additional side hob which proves that with the Magnum you will get a higher quality BBQ and more innovative features for just a fraction of the price.

What Is A Flame Tamer?

A flame tamer has two purposes. The first is to act as a heat spreader and provide a more even heat to your food, making it easier to cook meats right through without badly burning the outside. The second is to prevent oil, grease and fat from dripping onto the gas burners which can not only damage them but also cause larger flames than necessary.

Which is better? Flame tamer vs. lava rocks?

They both have their advantages, and although this barbecue comes with heat spreaders, lava rocks are still available from our online store. Both styles are capable of vaporising the food drippings, but it’s often said that lava rocks are more effective when cooking large amounts of food at once. However, we at Ray Grahams think that the flame tamers are the better all-round option for several reasons. Lava rocks tend not to last through the Winter as they can go mouldy while stored. While they’re good at vaporising the majority of food drippings, any that gets through the gaps can land on your burners, greatly reducing the life of them. With the heat spreading flame tamers, they completely cover each of the burners and are tapered away from them. Flame tamers are much easier to use than lava rocks thanks to just how even the transfer of heat to the food is.

Who are Outback?
