Features & Benefits

The Dremel 3000 provides you with more flexibility to suit a better range of applications because of it's rotary design. With hundreds and hundreds of parts readily available on the market (at affordable prices) there is a potentially endless list of possibilities for your Dremel.

I am lucky enough to have the pleasure of owning a Dremel and if you're like me always tinkering around the house or on the site - this handy little multi-tool allows me to perform some of the oddest jobs without having to crack out the power tools - saving me both time and effort (which is the aim of the game). So whether your drilling holes in sheet metal or performing intricate mouldings in the final stages of your year long woodworking project - the Dremel 3000 can help you, without the cost of expensive power tools and accessories!

Variable Speed Control

The Dremel 3000 is a really simple lightweight handheld tool that boasts a powerful 130W motor that delivers a maximum of 33,000RPM to applications. Let me put that into perspective for you - The Dewalt DCD785 Cordless Hammer Drill is a £129.98 cordless hammer drill / screwdriver. Part of the DeWalt XR range it is favorite with professionals. The DCD785 only delivers 2600RPM's to applications and is limited to screw-driving - drilling applications where the Dremel 3000 is not and outperforms 11 x faster. Its choice of 5 speeds allows you to use the Dremel in a diverse range of materials from plastics to glass.

Adjustable Dremel Collar

I found the Dremel 3000 to be particularly well balanced in terms of design - ergonomics and usability. By default the Dremel comes fully assembled, minus the bit in the collet (chuck). It's easy locking system consists of 4 primary parts; a shaft lock button, rubber collar, collet and tightening cap. Each of these 4 parts can be disassembled giving you more freedom of choice for a variety shafts, bits and accessories. The collets design allows you to quickly twist n lock - or unlock for quick and easy bit changes.

Replaceable Motor Brushes

With most multi-tools this isn't an option - nor have I come across this with any other branded tool, so naturally I was quite impressed with this feature. It's quite simple really - by allowing you to replace your motor brushes it provides you with a means of constantly maintaining the motor thus enhancing its lifespan for an almost indefinite amount of time. This is useful because it is a lot cheaper to purchase replacement brushes than replace the multi-tool.

Ergonomic Design

Tried, tested and certified - the Dremel 3000 has a new and improved design which has been specifically built to suit the user. It is definitely more compact and lightweight this time round and definitely more balanced in terms of power - weight ratio. With the older model my biggest complaint was that the weighting of the tool (when it was in use) was wrong when the powerful motor at full speed had a tendency to offset my balance - a particularly annoying flaw when using it for intricate jobs as it affected control and accuracy. This is no longer the case with the 3000 model. Additionally the shape of size has changed - I don't know if it is necessarily more compact but the arrangement of controls and buttons is far better suited, where it requires little movement to adjust speed etc.

Dremel 3000 Accessories

There are a huge amount of accessories which are commercially available for use with the Dremel 3000. If you are purchasing one we have a range of kits to suit. Most of our Dremel Multi-tools will be supplied with a selection of popular accessories to suit a broad range of applications. I can't talk about them all because there are simply too many to cover but have a look at the most common accessories and their uses:

Dremel Cutting Bits

These are undoubtedly one of the most commonly used bits. The fiberglass cutting bits are one of the largest cutting bits on the market. They provide you with deeper cuts and tend to last longer compared to smaller accessories. They can be used to make intricate or deep cut in metals, plastic, woods and even glass.

Dremel Drill Bits

Ok when you think drill bits I'm sure you're thinking of hardcore drill bits that cost an arm and a leg. I am just going to clear the air so that you have no misconceptions as what I mean by drill bit in this context - Not truly a drill bit, but still worth a mention the Dremel drill bits provide you with a handy, fast and effective way of creating small holes in materials like woods, stud wall, and even thin sheet metals. It's alot faster than cracking the drill out and a lot easier - however don't expect heavy duty work from these drill bits. Regardless they are incredibly handy for those odd home jobs.

Sanding Sleeves & Polishing Discs

These are my favorites. The sanding discs are fantastic accessories that make short work out of sanding in timber and various substrates. The little pads are long lasting too - despite their misleading size they really are long lasting - giving you good quality for money. The polishing wheel is great too. not just limited to metals and brasses the polishing wheel can be used for just about anything that meant to have a shine (I use my polishing wheel to clean the edges and corners of dirty phone screens).
