An excellent value kit of two cordless power tools which run from the widely supported 18V XR platform. The kit comes with two 18V XR Li-ion battery packs, one 5.0Ah capacity and the other 4.0Ah, and everything is packaged neatly in a stackable T-Stak storage kitbox.
The DCD709 Combi Hammer Drill is extremely compact and the bare tool only weighs 1.2kg for low user fatigue. It has an LED work light on the foot of the drill that shines upwards to the work area for better visibility in poor light conditions. There are 15 clutch-torque settings, easily controlled by the setting ring, and the DCD709 also features a hammer mode for drilling up to 13mm diameter holes in masonry.
The DCF809 Impact Driver has the standard 'Drop & Load' bit holder that takes 1/4" hex shanked screwdriving and drill bits. The bare tool only weighs 1.0kg and is just 131mm long making it perfect for working in small spaces that a larger tool would get in the way. Around the bit holder is a ring of three powerful LED lights making it easier to see what you're doing.
Both tools use brushless DC motors to give you longer battery runtime and greater reliability than traditional brushed motors, as well as lower noise. The kit also comes with a multi-voltage charger that allows you to charge 12V, 14.4 and 18V batteries in the DeWalt XR platform.
