Featuring an asymmetric handlebar and a harness, this strimmer and brush cutter is designed for professional use and gives excellent benefits over the equivalent petrol machine. It has a powerful 36 Volt brushless motor that acquires its power by combining two 18V battery packs in series. The batteries it uses are standard Makita 18V LXT Li-ion batteries, but this version is supplied without any to allow for cost savings for those who already own LXT power tools and garden tools.
The electric motor allows for soft start, reducing the unpleasant jolt associated with powerful machines like this. The motor can spin the attachment up to a maximum speed of 7,000 rpm and detects when it is under load to allow constant speed control. If it suddenly slows down, for example in a jam, the Active Feedback Sensing Technology, or AFT, cuts power to the motor to prevent injury. The user can then use the reverse function to get the weeds unstuck easily, and continue working. This kit is supplied with various attachments including a two tooth metal blade, nylon line cutting head, and plastic blade head.
