  This professional grade power tool from Makita allows you to quickly and easily plane stock thanks to the powerful brushless motor. Brushless motors also allow much longer runtime than their brushed counterparts thanks to improved internal efficiencies. The motor runs at up to an amazing 12,000 rpm without a load giving you fast and, most importantly, clean material removal. The DKP181 features dual dust extraction ports which allows you to attach a dust extractor to the left or right and quickly switch between them. The machine has an 82mm width cutting base and is powerful enough to cut 3mm of material with each pass. It is also easy to use due to the ergonomically designed handle that allows you to provide the correct angle of pressure. It can be used for long periods of time thanks to the low noise output level of 84 dB(A). This tool is powered by Makita's LXT range of 18 volt batteries which use Lithium-ion chemistry to allow as much power density as possible in a small form factor. We offer this without any batteries or charger however to allow a much lower price than a full kit, which is ideal for the existing LXT powertool owner to expand their range of tools.
