SDS Plus Drills

Bosch Developed their Special Direct System (SDS) in 1975 to allow the drill bit to move forwards and backwards inside the chuck allowing drilling of tough materials much easier. SDS Plus bits have a 10 mm shank with two open grooves held by the driving wedges and two closed grooves held by locking balls within the chuck. SDS Plus drills are the most common and designed for hammers up to 4kg.
