Are Cross Line Lasers Becoming a Household Tool?

Posted: 17 September 2014
Many people are starting to use laser levels around the home as well as the work site. But why are they proving to be such a valuable tool and which laser would best suit the tasks you are faced with?

One of the cheaper Lasers you can buy is the Bosch Self Levelling Cross line Laser PCL10. The laser has a self levelling feature that allows you to start working in just seconds, allowing for fast precise work. The soft grip case gives you a more comfortable and better hold on the laser. The laser has an intuitive operation making it easy to operate.

The cross line laser has been manufactured with bright laser diodes giving you clear visible lines even in daylight up to a range of 10 metres. This laser is ideal for tasks around the home such as aligning picture frames, tiling and shelving. The laser has an accuracy of ±0.5mm per metre.

The Stanley FatMax CLLi Cross Line Laser is suitable for both internal and external uses up to a range of 25 metres. The laser emits one vertical and one horizontal line with controls allowing the user to control which lasers are visible. The pendulum lock feature allows the laser to be transported easily without causing damage.

When set on any surface it will auto align making sure the lasers are level but if the surface is too uneven the laser will indicate this to you with the out of true level sensor. This laser is great for use on site and in the garden as well as around the house for applications such as fencing and general construction.

The DeWalt DW089K Self Leveling 3 Line Laser is one of the top of the range lasers packed with great features for everyday use. The laser has been designed with a working range of up to 15 metres, combined with a 25 hour runtime, it's ideal for on site working. The laser can be used with the DE0892 detector giving you up to a 50 metre range.

The DeWalt level uses three easy buttons allowing you to select the required laser pattern as well as a low battery indication light. The built in magnetic pivot allows you to attach the laser to any metal surface and point in the right direction. The over moulded soft grip and metal housing helps to maintain the lasers calibration under jobsite conditions.

We believe that laser levels are a great tool to have in the home as well as on site due to their versatility. Whether you are using it to align pictures or construct a house you will achieve the perfect finish thanks to your laser. With these lasers becoming cheaper and more advanced, could spirit levels become a thing of the past?
