Prepare for Winter with the Classic 8 Clean Burning Multi Fuel Stove

Posted: 20 August 2014
It's that time of year again when the colder weather starts to find it's way back in again. We have the perfect solution for you to keep your home warm this winter without the costly expenses of oil. A wood or multi fuel burning stove is the perfect addition to any home as both a practical and decorative piece.

The Classic 8 wood burning stove is one of the best looking and most reasonably priced stoves stocked in Ray Grahams. The Classic 8 stove has all the looks of a traditional stove with a contemporary twist. The stove has a large 7.9Kw output making it ideal to heat a medium sized room for those cold winter months.

The stove has a large glass viewing window helping to light up the room and set the atmosphere at nights. The Classic 8 stove has a 6 inch flue diameter that can be accessed from either the top or rear of the stove, allowing for installation in various positions.

One of the Classic 8's main selling points is the fact that it has been DEFRA approved for use in smokeless zones. Many parts of the UK are now smoke control areas where you can't emit smoke from a chimney unless you are burning an authorised fuel or appliances such as the Classic 8 stove.

The Classic 8 stove can be used to burn approved multi fuels such as anthracite and smokeless briquette fuels that are also approved for burning by DEFRA. You can read more details on smoke control areas Here .

Wood and Multi Fuel Burning Tips:

1. When burning wood you are advised on leaving it to season for a year before burning. This allows the wood time to dry out, eliminating tar deposits and improving heat output.

2. Wood burns best on a bed of ash making it only necessary to remove surplus ash from the grate occasionally.

3. Always make sure you never over fuel your stove as this can produce temperatures beyond the rating and cause damage to the stove.

4. To calculate the Kw heat rating needed you are advised to work out the volume of the room (ie. 15' x 15' x 8') and divide it by 500 to get 3.6Kw of heat.

5. If the glass panel is constantly dirty it can be cause by a few factors such as poor fuel quality, not using the secondary air slide and the fire burning too low.

Due to the weight of the stoves they have to be shipped on a pallet. We are able to ship the stoves to the UK and Ireland at an extra charge. Please contact our sales team on 02891813494 for a price.
